⚒️ Iron Krag
Blacksmith — Any Race
LAST UPDATED: APRIL 2026
LORE
“The greatest smith in Aeternum cares nothing for faction wars. He cares only for steel, fire, and the perfect weapon. Earn his trust and his forge is yours.”
Overview
Iron Krag is Aeternum's greatest living blacksmith — a craftsman who considers the faction war an irritating distraction from the real work of forging perfect weapons. He is an uncommon-rarity hero but punches well above his tier in utility, providing substantial crafting cost reductions, improved success rates, and reduced crafting cooldowns. Any player who invests in crafting professions will find Iron Krag an essential long-term companion.
Background
Krag learned his trade from his father, who learned from his father before him, in an unbroken line of smiths stretching back to before the Crystal's shattering. Unlike most craftsmen in Aeternum who eventually pledged to one faction or the other for protection, Krag refused on principle: both vampires and werewolves need weapons, and a smith who takes sides loses half his clients. He has been offered knighthoods, titles, and small fortunes to serve as exclusive armourer to various noble houses, and has declined every offer with the same three-word response: 'Find another smith.' His forge in the neutral settlement of Stonemarrow is the worst-kept secret in Aeternum — everyone knows where it is, and no one dares attack it because everyone needs what it produces. Earn his respect — which requires doing actual work rather than just throwing gold at him — and his forge becomes yours to use.

Recruitment Guide
To recruit Iron Krag you must reach Level 15
and complete the recruitment quest chain (quest ID: 15).
The recruitment quest will become available in your quest log once the level
requirement is met — check the Quests
section of the wiki for full chain details.
TIP
Focus on completing the recruitment quest chain as soon as you hit the level requirement. Heroes recruited earlier have more time to accumulate loyalty, and even the level 1 loyalty bonus from Iron Krag begins paying off immediately after recruitment.
Personal Quests
Iron Krag has 5 personal quests. Completing each quest contributes toward loyalty tier progression. Work through them in order — later quests unlock after earlier ones are complete. All quests raise loyalty toward the next tier; reaching 3 and 8 completed quests triggers tier upgrades.

Combat Tips
- Recruit Krag as early as level 15 and complete his personal quests before you need Master Recipes — the loyalty 3 unlock requires 8 quests and takes time, so front-loading the quest progression ensures the recipes are available when your crafting level reaches them.
- His Forged Resolve skill is unexpectedly strong in sustained encounters — 80% DEF increase for 3 rounds with full debuff immunity makes him surprisingly durable for a crafting hero, usable as an off-tank in content where you need to survive long enough to land key abilities.
- Combine Krag's -20% crafting cost at loyalty 3 with Lyra Moonweaver's enhanced gathering yields for a closed-loop crafting economy that generates high-tier gear with dramatically reduced material and gold investment.
Synergies
Krag and Lyra Moonweaver form the strongest crafting economy duo in the game, covering raw material acquisition and fabrication costs simultaneously. His Master Recipes unlock pairs well with players who have high-tier crafting skills but lack access to rare blueprints behind faction locks. Blacksmith and artisan subclass players who stack crafting skill bonuses natively will find Krag's passive cooldown reduction stacking with subclass talents to enable near-continuous crafting output.
