Account Registration
Creating a VvW account takes under 2 minutes. Go to duskmaw.com/register and fill in the registration form.
Required Fields
- Username — 3–20 characters, letters/numbers/underscores only. Visible to all players. Can be changed once every 30 days (free), then costs 500 gems.
- Email — used for login, password recovery, and optional marketing. Not shown to other players.
- Password — minimum 8 characters. Use a unique password not used elsewhere.
- Age confirmation — you must confirm you are 13+ years old (required for GDPR compliance).
- Marketing consent — optional. Unchecking does not affect gameplay.
Email Verification
After registration, a verification email is sent to your address. Check spam/junk if it doesn't arrive within 5 minutes. Your account is fully functional before verification, but unverified accounts are deleted after 48 hours of inactivity.
NOTE
If you lose access to your email, use the in-game support system (Account → Settings → Support) to request manual verification.
GDPR Data Rights
All accounts are GDPR-compliant. You can export all your data at any time (Account → Settings → Export Data) and permanently delete your account (Account → Settings → Delete Account). Deletion is irreversible.
Character Creation
The Character Creation Wizard runs automatically after your first login. It has 3 steps and takes about 2 minutes.
- Choose Race — pick Vampire or Werewolf. This is permanent and cannot be changed. Read the Race Selection section before deciding.
- Name Your Character — 3–20 characters, unique across the server. Different from your username — your character name is what appears in PvP logs, rankings, and clan lists.
- Distribute Starting Stats — you receive 10 free stat points at character creation. Allocate them across STR, DEF, DEX, and LCK. See the Character & Stats wiki page for guidance.
TIP
If you're unsure how to allocate your starting stats, put all 10 into STR for a universal safe choice. You can optimize later as you learn the game.
Race Selection
Your race is permanent. Choose carefully — it determines your base stats, skill tree, faction alignment, and Eclipse War team.
| Attribute | 🧛 Vampire | 🐺 Werewolf |
|---|---|---|
| Base HP | 80 | 100 (+25%) |
| Base STR | 12 | 15 (+25%) |
| Base DEX | 15 | 10 |
| Base DEF | 10 | 14 |
| Base LCK | 13 | 11 |
| Lifesteal | 5% base | 2% base |
| Skills available | V1–V50 | W1–W50 |
| Faction | Vampire faction | Werewolf faction |
| Playstyle | DEX / Lifesteal / Burst | STR / Tank / Burst |
Which Race Should I Choose?
- Choose Vampire if: you want high dodge and critical hits, enjoy lifesteal sustain, plan to focus on PvP ranking, or want to farm high-tier dungeons (D8–D9) efficiently.
- Choose Werewolf if: you want raw power and higher HP, enjoy burst damage, plan to play as a tank, or want to focus on Eclipse War contribution scores.
- Choose the same race as your friends if you're playing together — same faction = same Eclipse War team.
Both races are equally viable at all content tiers. See the Vampire vs Werewolf 2026 comparison article for a detailed breakdown.
Tutorial & First Battle
After character creation, the 5-step Tutorial Wizard guides you through your first actions. Completing it takes 10–15 minutes and earns starter rewards:
| Tutorial Step | Action | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Step 1 | Complete your profile | 50 gold |
| Step 2 | Win your first PvE battle | 100 XP + Starter Sword |
| Step 3 | Equip an item from inventory | 50 gold |
| Step 4 | Complete your first mission | 200 XP |
| Step 5 | Use the Work action | 100 gold |
Tutorial Battle
Your first PvE battle is against a "Weakened Zombie" — a tutorial enemy that can never kill you (your HP floors at 1 HP). This ensures all new players can win their first battle regardless of stats. The tutorial battle uses the standard combat system so it teaches real mechanics.
NOTE
You can skip the tutorial using the "Skip Tutorial" button, but you'll miss the 500 gold + 300 XP in combined rewards. Not recommended for first-time players.
Dashboard Overview
The Dashboard is your main hub after login. It shows everything at a glance:

Daily Loop — What to Do Each Day
VvW is designed around a daily routine. You don't need to play for hours — 15–30 minutes per day is enough to progress consistently. Here's the optimal daily order:
- Login & Check Streak — claim your login streak bonus (Dashboard). Resets at midnight UTC if you miss a day.
- Daily Check-in (POST /api/daily/checkin) — claim the daily login reward from the Daily tab. Also awards +50 Battle Pass XP.
- Run Work — click Work (Dashboard or Work page). Earns gold based on your level. 8-hour cooldown — do this as early in the day as possible.
- Complete Daily Missions — check Daily tab for 3–5 daily missions. Complete as many as possible for gold, XP, and Battle Pass XP.
- Run Dungeons — D1–D7 have 4-hour cooldowns, meaning you can do 2 runs per day. D8–D9 have 8-hour cooldowns (1 run/day). D10 has 12-hour cooldown.
- Hunt on the Map — spend remaining energy on map hunting (PvE battles). Earn XP, gold, and item drops.
- PvP (Optional) — attack eligible players on the PvP page. 3 attacks per target per day, 1-hour global PvP cooldown.
- Second Work Run — if your 8-hour Work cooldown has expired, run Work again before the day ends.
EFFICIENT DAILY SCHEDULE
Login at 9 AM → Work + Daily check-in (2 min). Lunch → Dungeon run + Missions (8 min). 5 PM → Second dungeon run + Hunt (10 min). 9 PM → Work #2 + PvP (5 min). Total: ~25 minutes/day.
New Player Tips
DO
- Complete the tutorial for 500 gold + 300 XP in rewards
- Use Work every 8 hours — it's free gold that runs passively
- Join a clan as soon as you reach level 5 — clan XP bonus stacks
- Complete daily missions every day — they add up fast
- Read item descriptions before equipping — check stat requirements
- Keep your gear repaired — broken gear loses 20–40% of its stats
DON'T
- Don't attack players 20+ levels above you — you'll almost certainly lose gold
- Don't skip skill selection when leveling up — unspent skill points don't carry bonuses
- Don't sell every item immediately — keep equipment upgrades, sell duplicates
- Don't ignore the Auction House — some items are much cheaper there than the NPC shop
- Don't enter D10 underprepared — the cooldown is 12 hours; a failed run locks you out
WARNING
Stat allocation is permanent — you cannot reallocate stats without a Premium Stat Reset (500 gems). Think carefully before committing points, especially in your first 20 levels.
