Overview

Commander Brutus is the former general of the Old Kingdom — a tactician who has survived five wars, three kings, and more betrayals than he bothers to count. He is the premier Arena and Clan War hero, boosting ELO gains, Clan War contribution, and dealing guaranteed-hit damage through Tactical Strike. His event passive during Eclipse War makes him a must-recruit for players who participate in that seasonal content.

Background

Brutus earned his rank the old-fashioned way: outliving every other candidate. He fought in the Border Wars as a foot soldier, made sergeant by surviving three engagements his commanding officers did not, and accumulated promotions at a rate that had more to do with attrition than ambition. By the time he held the rank of general, the Old Kingdom he served had changed governments twice around him, and he had long since stopped caring about the political substance of his orders — the tactics were what mattered. When the Old Kingdom finally dissolved in the chaos following the Crystal's shattering, Brutus found himself with no kingdom left to command and no particular interest in retirement. He fights now because stopping is the one thing his decades of warfare never trained him to do — and because there is always, somewhere, an interesting problem that a sufficiently experienced general can solve.

Loyalty System

Loyalty with Commander Brutus increases by completing their personal quests. Each tier unlocks stronger bonuses and, at the highest level, access to an exclusive resource or location. Progress is permanent and carries across all your characters on the same account.

Recruitment Guide

To recruit Commander Brutus you must reach Level 45 and complete the recruitment quest chain (quest ID: 45). The recruitment quest will become available in your quest log once the level requirement is met — check the Quests section of the wiki for full chain details.

Personal Quests

• Use Tactical Strike as your opener in Arena — three guaranteed unhittable attacks immediately establish tempo and deal reliable damage before the opponent can respond, particularly devastating against dodge-focused builds that otherwise rely on evasion.
• Prioritise Brutus during Clan War periods — his +15% Clan War contribution at loyalty 3 scales with the size of your contribution actions, meaning high-output players see significantly larger absolute contributions per session.
• Stack the Eclipse War event passive by planning major gear upgrades and PvP pushes around that event window — the +10% damage bonus is multiplicative with other event modifiers, making that period your most efficient combat performance window of the season.

Brutus is the backbone of competitive PvP rosters, pairing naturally with Zora Bloodtracker — her Marked for Death amplifies the damage of his guaranteed Tactical Strike hits by 50%, creating burst windows that bypass opponent defences entirely. He also complements Lord Ashveil's Noble's Contempt: Ashveil reduces enemy STR and DEF while Brutus guarantees the amplified hits land. Tactician and commander subclass players compound his Arena ELO passive with subclass-native PvP bonuses, pushing rank progression faster than any other hero combination during competitive seasons.
