At the Apex, you find neither a monster nor a hero, but a being of pure creation — the Spire's original architect, imprisoned here by Auriel's predecessors when it tried to end the eternal war by merging vampire and werewolf into a single race. The 'corruption' is its desperate attempt to break free. Samael was half-right. Auriel was half-right. The full truth is more terrible than either version.
