Background & History
Ironbound served as a general for both sides of the conflict during different periods — a biographical detail he discusses without apparent discomfort and which gives him credibility with veterans of both factions. He retired after the Siege of Verdant, where casualties exceeded projections by forty percent due to intelligence failures he had warned about in pre-mission briefings. He accepted the No Man's Land posting as a constructive use of his experience rather than a genuine retirement.
