He specializes in elemental chaos binding — a discipline that produces weapons of remarkable power at the cost of certain instability. His successes are spectacular; his failures are also spectacular, which is why he works in a location with few permanent neighbors.
Background & History
Vael's bloodline traces to a pre-war family of human enchanters who served the vampire court until a political falling-out four generations back. Vael himself emerged from this legacy as someone who found vampire court service constraining and neutral practice more interesting. His discovery of chaos binding came from a documented accident involving three incompatible enchantment matrices that, instead of canceling each other out, merged into something unprecedented. He has been trying to reproduce the accident deliberately ever since, with mixed results.
