Celestial Warden Auriel is a divine being stationed at Spire Base Camp, the launch point for Aeternum's highest-difficulty ascension quests. She manages access to the Spire's upper levels and assigns the trials that comprise the game's most demanding endgame content. She has been waiting at the base for players capable of accepting her challenges for longer than the current war has existed.
Background & History
Auriel's assignment to the Spire predates any records currently available. She describes her role as waiting for those who are ready and providing the trials that determine readiness, a description that is simultaneously specific and unhelpfully vague. She is neither vampire nor werewolf and appears to have no position on the war other than finding it an interesting demonstration of mortal priorities. The trials she administers are not punishment but genuine tests of character, capability, and something she refers to as resonance that players experience but the game system does not formally define.
