How We Ranked These Weapons
Rankings are based on three criteria: raw DPS (damage per combat round using standard stat distribution), utility (proc effects, lifesteal, crowd control), and accessibility (how difficult the item is to obtain). An S-tier weapon locked behind a 0.1% dungeon drop isn't practical advice — we weighted balance.
Weapon stats scale with your STR (melee damage) or DEX (critical hit chance and dodge). Which weapon is best for you depends on your build archetype. We note the recommended build for each entry.
Top 10 Weapons — Ranked
The highest raw damage weapon in the game. The Eclipse Greatsword gains a passive +25% damage boost during Eclipse War events, making it absurdly powerful for the first week of every month. Outside events it's still the top STR weapon. The proc effect: 12% chance to trigger "Eclipse Surge" dealing 2× damage on the next attack.
How to get: D10 dungeon drop (rare), Endgame Vendor (8,000 tokens), or Auction House listing.
The best weapon for DEX-focused Vampire builds. Lower base damage than greatswords but the S-tier DEX scaling and built-in lifesteal (6% of damage dealt restored as HP) make it the top choice for any Vampire who stacks DEX. The fast attack speed means more procs per fight.
How to get: Crafted (recipe #147 — requires Shadow Ore × 6, Ancient Fang × 2). Relatively accessible at level 50+.
The premier Werewolf weapon. Moonpiercer scales exceptionally with Full Moon event modifiers (+15% damage on Blood Moon nights) and has a passive that grants +10 STR for each Werewolf skill equipped. Pairs perfectly with the Feral Fury build archetype.
How to get: D9 drop, World Boss rare reward, or Black Market rotation (weekly, check Mondays).
Dual-strike weapon — hits twice per combat round. Lower damage per hit, but the dual-strike interaction with crit chance means DEX builds trigger critical hits far more often. Synergizes with the "Pack Speed" werewolf skill to reduce cooldown on the second strike by 1 round.
How to get: D7–D8 drop, or crafted (recipe #198).
The best accessible endgame weapon. Rare rarity means it's far easier to acquire than Legendaries, but the damage output is within 12% of the Eclipse Greatsword at level 70+. The "Execute" passive (deals +30% damage to targets below 25% HP) makes it exceptional for finishing PvP fights.
How to get: D6–D8 common drop, frequently listed on Auction House for 2,000–4,000 gold.
The best weapon for hybrid STR/DEX builds. Equal scaling on both stats means it doesn't punish mixed allocation. The "Void Rend" proc (8% chance to reduce enemy DEF by 20% for 3 rounds) pairs exceptionally well with the Shadowstep Claws on weapon swap setups.
How to get: Boss drops from dungeon boss floors, or Black Market.
Exceptional for tank-oriented builds. In addition to solid damage, it provides +15 DEF passive — unusual for a weapon slot. The "Blood Crush" skill modifier increases the stun chance on Crushing Blow by 5%. A top choice for players who stack DEF and want their weapon slot to contribute to survivability.
How to get: D5–D7 drops, very frequently available on Auction House.
One of the hardest weapons to acquire, but among the best for late Prestige DEX builds. The "Nightmare Harvest" passive heals for 12% of overkill damage dealt — meaning over-killing enemies restores significant HP. Critical for Infinity Tower floors 80+ where sustain matters more than burst.
How to get: Infinity Tower floor 80 reward chest (guaranteed), or D10 rare drop.
A seasonal weapon from the Winter Solstice event that's strong year-round. The "Frost Shatter" proc (15% chance) applies a 2-round slow that reduces enemy dodge by 25%. In PvP, this is extremely powerful against DEX builds — their dodge advantage disappears for 2 full rounds.
How to get: Winter Solstice event (Dec 1–21) from event rewards, or Auction House post-event.
The best mid-game weapon for DEX-oriented players before level 60. The "Corruption" passive adds a flat magic damage component that bypasses physical DEF — particularly useful in the mid-game bracket where enemies have high DEF but low magic resistance. A strong stepping stone to Bloodfang Dagger.
How to get: D4–D5 drops, crafted (recipe #89). Very common on Auction House.
