TL;DR: Vampires in VvW excel at two very different playstyles. The Blood Mage dominates through sustained life steal and area-of-effect damage — ideal for dungeon farming. The Shadow Assassin bursts down single targets with massive critical hits — the PvP terror. This guide covers both builds from level 1 to 80.

Understanding the Vampire Stat System
Every vampire character starts with the same base stats and receives 3 stat points per level to allocate freely. Additionally, 1 skill point is earned every 5 levels for unlocking or upgrading vampire abilities.
The six core stats for vampires:
- STR (Strength) — Base physical damage. Less important for vampires than werewolves.
- INT (Intelligence) — Scales dark magic damage and life steal effectiveness. Primary vampire stat.
- DEX (Dexterity) — Critical hit chance and dodge. Key for Shadow Assassin.
- VIT (Vitality) — Max HP per point. Vampires have lower base HP than werewolves, making VIT allocation a trade-off.
- LCK (Luck) — Improves critical hit damage multiplier and rare item drop rates.
- DEF (Defense) — Reduces incoming damage via formula:
DR = DEF / (DEF + 50).
The vampire's unique racial bonus: +20% damage during night-cycle battles and a baseline 5% life steal on all attacks (scales with INT).
Build #1: Blood Mage
The Blood Mage is the definitive PvE and dungeon build. You maximize INT and VIT to become an unkillable damage dealer who heals through every fight. At high levels, the life steal from Blood Drain and Crimson Nova means you're effectively immune to normal monsters.
Blood Mage — Stat Allocation (per 3 points/level)
Core Skills — Blood Mage Priority
- MAX Blood Drain (V3) — Your bread-and-butter. Deals INT-scaled damage and heals you for 30% of damage dealt. At max rank, this alone can sustain you through boss fights.
- MAX Crimson Nova (V7) — AoE dark damage hitting all enemies. Essential for dungeon clearing speed. Scales entirely with INT.
- LVL 5 Dark Veil (V12) — Passive 15% damage reduction when HP drops below 40%. Your safety net when sustain isn't enough.
- LVL 3 Sanguine Surge (V18) — Temporary +30% INT buff for 3 turns. Use before boss encounters for burst windows.
- LVL 1 Bat Swarm (V5) — Cheap AoE chip damage. Lower priority but useful for mob clearing.
Gear Priorities — Blood Mage
Focus on items with +INT and +Life Steal % bonuses. The Tier 3+ crafted Alchemy items (IDs 420–440) offer the best INT scaling. For weapons, any staff or wand with "+X% dark damage" prefix stacks multiplicatively with INT.
- Weapon: Shadow Staff of Malice (level 50+) or any craftable staff with +INT
- Armor: Crimson Robes of the Abyss — bonus to blood magic damage
- Artifact: Blood Moon Talisman — +5% life steal
- Consumable: Dark Essence Vials before boss fights
Blood Mage Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: Exceptional dungeon farmer, almost unkillable in PvE with sustain, very strong in long fights.
Weaknesses: Weak burst damage in short PvP fights, vulnerable to stun-lock, low DEF without gear investment.
Build #2: Shadow Assassin
The Shadow Assassin is built for one purpose: kill the target before they can react. Stack DEX + LCK to push critical hit chance above 60%, then combine with Shadow Dash and Lethal Strike for opener bursts that can delete players in 2–3 hits.
Shadow Assassin — Stat Allocation (per 3 points/level)
Core Skills — Shadow Assassin Priority
- MAX Shadow Dash (V2) — Teleport to target, guaranteeing your first hit cannot be dodged. The signature opener. At max rank, deals bonus damage proportional to DEX.
- MAX Lethal Strike (V8) — Next attack deals 2.5× critical damage. Combined with Shadow Dash opener, this is your main kill combo.
- LVL 5 Hemorrhage (V15) — Apply bleed for 3 turns. Ensures the target can't escape without taking damage. Critical synergy for PvP.
- LVL 3 Night's Blessing (V22) — Passive +15% damage during night cycle. Since 70% of battles are night, this is almost always active.
- LVL 2 Blood Drain (V3) — Low investment for emergency healing if you take a hit.
Gear Priorities — Shadow Assassin
You want +DEX, +Crit Chance %, and +Crit Damage % on every slot. Daggers and shortswords (higher base speed) outperform 2H weapons for this build. The new gloves slot (IDs 445–454) with DEX bonuses is a major upgrade.
- Weapon: Twin Shadows (daggers) or any fast weapon with +crit chance
- Armor: Shadowweave Tunic — +DEX and dodge rating
- Gloves: Nightstalker Gauntlets — +critical hit chance
- Artifact: Assassin's Mark — +10% critical hit damage
Shadow Assassin Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: Dominant in PvP, fast kill times in low-HP situations, highest single-target damage ceiling.
Weaknesses: Glass cannon — very low HP, poor sustained DPS against tanky dungeon bosses, RNG-dependent (critical miss = dead).
Which Build Should You Choose?
The answer depends on your focus:
- Solo player / dungeon farmer? → Blood Mage. You'll never die and farm resources efficiently.
- PvP-focused / clan wars? → Shadow Assassin. The burst potential makes you terrifying in 1v1.
- Hybrid / casual? → Go 2 INT + 1 DEX up to level 40, then specialize based on what you enjoy more.
Leveling Guide — Levels 1 to 80
Levels 1–20 (Early Game): Don't over-commit to either build. Put 2 points INT + 1 point VIT every level. Prioritize Blood Drain first — it's your survival tool regardless of build.
Levels 21–50 (Mid Game): Start specializing. Blood Mages should be getting Crimson Nova by level 35. Assassins should have Shadow Dash + Lethal Strike combo online by level 40.
Levels 51–80 (End Game): Max your primary skills, gear becomes the primary power driver. Blood Mages run D7–D10 for the best dark-element crafting materials. Assassins should be actively PvPing for ELO ranking and ELO rewards.
