Subclass Tier List 2026:
All 6 Ranked for Every Playstyle
Pack Warrior, Shadow Rogue, Blood Mage, and more — every subclass ranked for PvP, PvE, Clan Wars, and endgame with stat requirements and race pairings.
Choosing your subclass is the most consequential decision you'll make in Vampires vs. Werewolves. Unlike race, which is chosen at character creation, subclasses unlock at Level 20 — but once selected, changing them requires a costly respec. This is not a choice to make on a whim.
This tier list evaluates all six subclasses across four modes: PvP Arena, PvE Dungeons, Clan Wars, and Endgame farming. Each subclass has contexts where it shines and contexts where it limps. Read the full breakdown before committing.
Tiers reflect performance at Level 60+ with optimal gear. S = dominant in this mode, A = strong and reliable, B = viable with specific setups, C = struggles without heavy investment. Rankings reflect the current 2026 patch balance.

Individual Subclass Breakdowns
Passive: Blood Frenzy — every 3rd consecutive attack deals 150% damage and restores 8% HP. The self-sustain and burst combo make Pack Warriors extremely durable in extended fights.
Best gear: Ironbone Plate set (Shadowfen drop), Mauler's Gauntlets, any STR necklace.
Pros: Highest burst in Clan Wars, self-healing reduces potion costs, reliable in all content. Cons: Immobile, telegraphed rotation, weak against high-dodge DEX builds.
Passive: Rally Howl — boosts all clan member stats by 8% for 2 rounds when activated. Retroactively buffs abilities cast in the same round (a hidden mechanic most players miss).
Best gear: Moonweave Robes, Totem Staff of the Elder, Vitality rings for sustain.
Pros: S-tier in endgame group content, synergizes with any comp, excellent dungeon clear speed. Cons: Weak solo PvP, relies on team coordination, fragile if focused.
Passive: Shadowstep — first attack each combat has +25% crit chance. Pairs devastatingly with high LCK builds to nearly guarantee an opening crit.
Best gear: Obsidian Daggers, Nightweave Cloak, Assassin's Signet Ring.
Pros: Highest single-target burst, excellent in 1v1 Arena, fun and rewarding skill expression. Cons: Dies fast if the opener doesn't land, poor in sustained PvE fights, needs gold investment in LCK gear.
Passive: Blood Shield — absorbs the first 15% of incoming damage each combat into a shield pool. This shield refreshes every 5 rounds, making Dark Knights exceptional in war scenarios.
Best gear: Crimson Fortress Plate, Tower Shield, Warlord's Helm.
Pros: Best Clan War defender, hard to burst down, reliable in all bracket PvP. Cons: Low damage ceiling, slow endgame farming, gear-dependent for offense.
Passive: Crimson Surge — ability power scales with missing HP. Below 40% HP, AP increases by 30%. Creates high-risk, high-reward gameplay that rewards knowing exactly when to burst.
Best gear: Arcane Bloodweave Robes, Staff of the Eternal Sanguine, INT rings.
Pros: Highest ability damage in endgame, spectacular in dungeons, good PvE versatility. Cons: Punishing to play suboptimally, requires precise HP management, PvP ceiling limited by low physical defense.
Passive: Lunar Tide — crit hits trigger a stacking damage buff, up to 3 stacks (+6%/+12%/+20% ATK). Consistent in fights that last 4+ rounds.
Best gear: Moonhowler's Plate, Crescent Blade, Luckstone Ring.
Pros: Easiest to gear, flexible stat spread, good for beginners to Werewolf side. Cons: No single mode where it dominates, outclassed by specialists in every category.
Race Pairings — What Works Best
Vampire and Werewolf each have exclusive subclasses, so the race-subclass pairing is fixed. However, your race's innate passive amplifies certain subclasses more than others:
- Vampires gain +10% lifesteal base — this most benefits Blood Mage and Dark Knight, both of whom spend long rounds in combat.
- Werewolves gain +15% physical ATK during Blood Moon events — this most benefits Pack Warrior and Moon Warrior.
- Shadow Rogue (Vampire) benefits from the Vampire's +5% dodge bonus, stacking with the already high DEX priority.
- Pack Shaman (Werewolf) benefits from the Werewolf pack bonus — clan buffs are 12% stronger for Werewolf Shamans than other classes.
Before You Lock In
Subclass selection is permanent unless you complete a paid respec. Respecs cost Level × 50 gold — at Level 60, that's 3,000 gold. Read the full Respec Guide before committing to understand costs, when it's worth it, and what stat allocation to set after resetting.
Use the Build Planner to simulate your subclass choice with your current stats and planned gear. The planner will show projected combat effectiveness before you spend a single point.
The honest answer to "which subclass is best?" is context-dependent. Pack Warrior wins Clan Wars. Pack Shaman wins endgame dungeons. Shadow Rogue wins 1v1 Arena. If you're not sure of your primary content, Pack Warrior is the safest general pick with the highest floor. Blood Mage has the highest ceiling — but only if you're willing to learn its quirks.
