How to Find the Right Clan in VvW:
Complete Recruitment Guide

Not all clans are equal. Here's how to find one that fits your playstyle, what questions to ask before joining, and how to make an immediate impact once you're in.

Playing VvW without a clan is like playing half the game. Clan membership unlocks +15% XP bonus, access to Clan War rewards, shared treasury buffs, exclusive clan quests, and the kind of coordinated play that makes endgame content actually clearable. The problem isn't finding any clan — it's finding the right one.

A bad clan fit is worse than no clan at all. A ghost clan with inactive members gives you none of the social benefits, and a toxic war clan that expects you online at 2 AM is a fast path to quitting the game entirely. This guide prevents both mistakes.

Why Clan Membership Matters

Types of Clans

Casual Clan

No war obligations. Log in when you want. Good for players with limited or unpredictable schedules.

War-Focused Clan

Active in Clan Wars, expects scheduled participation. Best rewards but real time commitment.

PvE / Dungeon Clan

Focused on dungeon clears, boss runs, and gear progression. Less PvP pressure.

Competitive Clan

Ranked on server leaderboards. Selective recruitment, high expectations, top rewards.

Where to Find Clans

1. In-Game Clan List

Navigate to Clan → Browse → Clan List and filter by: Level Range (find clans appropriate for your level), Activity (sort by "Last Active"), and Member Count (aim for 15–30 active members, not 50 half-dead ones). Read each clan's description carefully — the tone tells you everything about the leadership culture.

2. Official Discord Server

The official VvW Discord has a #clan-recruitment channel where clan leaders post weekly. This is often the best source because you can directly message leadership and get a feel for them before committing. Join at the link in-game under Community → Discord.

3. In-Game Recruitment Board

Found under Clan → Recruitment Board, this shows clans currently seeking members with listed requirements (min level, activity expectations, timezone). Posts expire after 7 days, so active clans refresh frequently — a stale post from 3 weeks ago is a red flag about activity.

4. World Chat

Active clans sometimes post recruitment messages in World Chat during peak hours. It's noisy but real-time — if a clan leader is actively recruiting in chat, they're probably actively engaged in the game.

What to Look For

Activity Metrics

Check the clan's War History tab — a healthy clan participates in at least 3 of every 4 available wars and has an attack participation rate above 70%. A clan that declares war but has half its members not attacking is disorganized leadership.

Member Count and Timezone

Aim for 15–30 members in a timezone close to yours. A clan with 40 members all 8 hours ahead of you functionally has zero of those players available when you're online. Timezone alignment matters more than raw member count.

Clan Level

Clan Level determines which upgrades are available. Clan Level 5+ unlocks treasury gold bonuses; Level 8+ unlocks advanced clan upgrades. Joining a freshly-formed Level 1 clan means weeks before you see real benefits — unless you're founding it intentionally.

Red Flags to Avoid

Warning Signs of a Bad Clan
  • Ghost clans: 30 members but last war participation was 3 weeks ago. The XP bonus requires 10 active members — ghost clans don't deliver it.
  • "Donate 500g to join": Legitimate clans don't charge join fees. Entry fees are a known scam pattern.
  • Pay-to-promote rank systems: Rank within a clan should reflect contribution, not gold donations.
  • Toxic Discord/chat: Spend 5 minutes in a clan's Discord before joining. A single chat server tells you more about culture than a month of in-game experience.
  • Vague war expectations: "We war sometimes" with no schedule is usually either a ghost clan or a clan where leaders go to war without informing members.

Questions to Ask Before Joining

  1. What are your activity expectations per week?
  2. Do you have scheduled war times or is it spontaneous?
  3. What timezone does most of your membership play in?
  4. How do you handle inactive members?
  5. What content are you currently focused on?
  6. Is there a probationary period before full membership?

A clan that can't or won't answer these clearly is telling you something important about their organization.

Your First Week in a New Clan

Don't lurk. The fastest way to integrate is to immediately contribute:

Leading Your Own Clan?

If you're starting or managing a clan rather than joining one, read the Clan Leader's Handbook for recruitment strategy, treasury management, and retention mechanics.

The right clan multiplies everything — your XP rate, your gold income, your progression speed, and frankly your enjoyment of the game. Take 30 minutes to evaluate properly rather than clicking Join on the first name that looks good. The best clan for you exists; you just have to know what to look for.
