The Rank Tiers

  • Bronze (0–999 MMR) — 40% of ranked players
  • Silver (1000–1999 MMR) — 30% of ranked players
  • Gold (2000–2999 MMR) — 20% of ranked players
  • Platinum (3000–3999 MMR) — 8% of ranked players
  • Diamond (4000–4999 MMR) — 1.8% of ranked players
  • Legendary (5000+ MMR) — top 0.2% of ranked players

What Actually Determines MMR

Win/loss is the primary factor. Secondary factors:

  • Win streak bonus: consecutive wins award more MMR per win
  • Performance score: damage dealt, objectives completed, healing done — affects ±10% of MMR gain/loss
  • Opponent MMR: beating higher-ranked players awards more MMR than beating lower-ranked players

The Single Biggest Mistake: Tilt

Tilt — the state of playing emotionally after losses — is the primary cause of losing streaks. Signs you are tilting:

  • Making aggressive decisions you normally wouldn't
  • Blaming teammates (in group formats) or the game for losses
  • Playing faster than usual, skipping your normal rotation
  • Playing more than 2 hours of ranked in one session

🛑 Stop-Loss Rule

If you lose 3 consecutive ranked matches, stop playing ranked for the day. Every additional loss while tilted costs significantly more MMR than it appears because you'll continue losing at a higher rate.

Class Specialization Matters

Players who master one class and play it in 90%+ of ranked games climb faster than players who switch classes frequently. The MMR system is calibrated to your performance, not your class — learning one class deeply leads to consistent performance, and consistent performance means consistent MMR gains.

Tier-Specific Advice

Bronze → Silver: The primary error at Bronze is using all abilities randomly. Learn your 3-ability opening combo and use it consistently in every fight. 80% of Bronze players don't have a consistent opening.

Silver → Gold: Cooldown management. Gold players track opponent cooldowns; Silver players don't. Practice noting when opponents use their defensive ability — that's your 20-second burst window.

Gold → Platinum: Positioning. Platinum players consistently control the geographic advantages in every fight. Study the arena maps and identify the 3 high-value positions in each.

Platinum → Diamond: Reading meta and adapting build in real time based on opponent class matchup. Diamond play requires flexibility within your class.
