Method 1: World Boss Drops (Best for Most Players)

Drop rate: 1–3% per kill. Weekly guaranteed Legendary from first clear of each boss (Monday reset).

  • Kill all 5 world bosses once per week for the weekly guaranteed drops (5 chances per week)
  • Continue farming for additional RNG drops (diminishing but still active)
  • Blood Moon Titan (event only) exclusively drops Blood Moon Legendary set — best in slot for multiple classes

Method 2: Mythic+ Dungeons

Most reliable consistent Legendary source at endgame:

  • Mythic+10: 10% chance of Legendary per run
  • Mythic+15: 30% chance of Legendary per run
  • Mythic+20: Guaranteed Legendary per run

Specific Legendaries are tied to specific dungeons — the Void Breach dungeon drops Void Legendaries; the Crimson Halls drops Blood Legendaries.

Method 3: The Pity System

⭐ How Pity Works

VvW tracks a hidden "Pity Counter" per character per dungeon. Each time a dungeon boss drops Rare or lower quality loot without a Legendary, the counter increments. At 100 pity, the next boss kill in that dungeon is guaranteed to drop a Legendary. The counter resets after a Legendary drops. Track yours via Character → Statistics → Dungeon History.

Strategy: Identify which dungeon has the Legendary you want, farm it consistently to accumulate pity, and ensure you hit 100 pity in that specific dungeon.

Method 4: Grandmaster Crafting

Requires Runecrafting Skill 100 (Grandmaster). Legendary recipes require:

  • Void Essence ×20 (~8,000–12,000 gold)
  • Legendary Catalyst ×1 (50,000–100,000 gold from Auction House or rare drop)
  • Class-specific material ×5 (varies by item)

Total cost: 70,000–150,000 gold. Advantage: you choose exactly which Legendary, no RNG. Best for specific bis items.

Method 5: Season Pass

The Season Pass (premium track, available for gems) includes 2 guaranteed Legendary items per season. Cannot be targeted — you get what the season offers. Best value for casual players who want Legendaries without extensive grinding.

Method 6: PvP Vendor

The ranked PvP vendor sells Legendary PvP gear in exchange for Honor Points. Requires Diamond rank (4,000+ MMR) for the top tier items. Best-in-slot for PvP specifically (not always PvE optimal).

Method 7: Clan War Rewards

Winning 10 consecutive Clan Wars earns a "War Champion" chest containing a guaranteed Legendary from the War Champion set. Best for players in active competitive clans.

Priority Order

For a new level 80 player targeting their first Legendary:

  1. Weekly world boss clears (free, guaranteed 5 per week)
  2. Farm Mythic+10 until pity triggers on your target dungeon
  3. Consider Season Pass if you'll play the full season
