Event Calendar Overview 2026
Aeternum runs two categories of events: recurring nightly events that follow a lunar schedule tracked by the in-game calendar, and seasonal limited events that appear once per year for 2–4 weeks. Understanding which category an event falls into determines how urgently you need to engage with it.
| Event | Type | Frequency | Primary Beneficiary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Moon | Nightly buff | Every night, 8 PM–6 AM server time | Vampires |
| Full Moon | Nightly buff | Every night, same window | Werewolves |
| Eclipse War | Monthly PvP | First weekend of each month | Both (competitive) |
| Winter Frost | Holiday | Dec 15 – Jan 5 | Both |
| Spring Awakening | Holiday | Mar 20 – Apr 10 | Both |
| Summer Solstice | Holiday | Jun 18 – Jul 8 | Both |
| Autumn Hunt | Holiday | Oct 15 – Nov 4 | Both |
Blood Moon and Full Moon run simultaneously every night — the server does not alternate between them. Both races receive their respective buff during the same night window. The difference is purely mechanical: Blood Moon amplifies Vampire-specific abilities; Full Moon amplifies Werewolf-specific abilities. Playing the opposite race during these windows yields no benefit.
Blood Moon (Nightly — Vampire Event)
Mechanics: Each night between 8 PM and 6 AM server time, the Blood Moon rises over Aeternum. During this window, all Vampire players receive a passive buff: +20% Lifesteal efficiency, +15% ATK, and +10% speed on all cooldowns. The Vault of Crimson dungeon becomes accessible — a Vampire-locked dungeon with its own loot table unavailable any other time.
Currency: Blood Marks are earned by completing dungeons, winning PvP fights, and clearing the nightly Blood Moon quest chain (three quests: Hunt the Marked, Drain the Vault, and Crimson Offering). Full quest chain completion yields 25 Blood Marks per night. Dungeon and PvP drops add 5–15 more per night depending on activity level.
Vampire strategy: The optimal Blood Moon routine is: complete the three quests first (25 Marks guaranteed), then run the Vault of Crimson at least twice (best drop rate for Claw-Forged Grips and Bloodshard Rune), then spend remaining time in PvP if your ELO ranking allows. Do not skip the quest chain — it is the most efficient Mark income source and takes 20–30 minutes.
Werewolf note: Werewolves receive no buff during Blood Moon and cannot enter the Vault of Crimson. If you play both races, log your Vampire character for the Blood Moon window and switch to Werewolf during non-event daytime hours.
Full Moon (Nightly — Werewolf Event)
Mechanics: Simultaneous with Blood Moon, the Full Moon empowers all Werewolf players: +18% STR, +12% ATK, and Lunar Sprint (the Opening Rush passive on Shadowstep Greaves extends from 2 to 3 rounds). The Howling Grounds dungeon becomes accessible — a Werewolf-locked map with unique loot including the Moonbreaker set components.
Currency: Moon Shards are earned through Howling Grounds runs, PvP wins, and the Full Moon quest chain (three quests: Mark the Territory, Break the Pack, and Howl at the Apex). Full chain yields 22 Moon Shards per night. Dungeons and PvP contribute 4–12 additional Shards depending on activity.
Werewolf strategy: Complete quest chain first (22 Shards, 20–25 minutes). Then run Howling Grounds until daily loot lockout triggers (typically after 3 runs). Spend the remaining window on Clan activities or PvP. The Thornstrike Rune drops from Howling Grounds final boss at approximately 8% per run — one of the more generous legendary drop rates in the game, so prioritize this dungeon consistently.
Pack synergy note: Full Moon is the best time for Clan group play. Pack Rally (Werewolf group passive) has its range doubled during the Full Moon window, meaning its +8% group ATK bonus covers a wider zone — beneficial in large-scale Eclipse War preparation fights that Clans sometimes schedule on Full Moon nights.
Eclipse War (Monthly PvP Event)
Mechanics: On the first Saturday and Sunday of each month, the Eclipse War activates. For 48 hours, the entire world map becomes a contested PvP zone. Players earn Eclipse Marks by defeating opponents, capturing territory flags, and completing War Objectives (posted on the in-game war board each hour). The leaderboard ranks players by total Mark accumulation; top 10 each month earn exclusive non-tradeable gear.
Exclusive rewards: Eclipse Warplate (rank 1–10, not tradeable) is the best-in-slot PvP armor in the game. Void Dust is the crafting component for Void-Touched Plate and Chain of the Voidheart — drops even for non-top-10 players through general Eclipse Mark farming. The Conqueror title is awarded to rank 1 monthly.
Vampire strategy: Vampires dominate the first hour of Eclipse War if Blood Moon is active (it typically aligns with the Saturday night start). Focus on territory capture immediately at event start — the first three flags captured count triple for Marks. Coordinate with Clan members to hold flags rather than contest individually.
Werewolf strategy: Werewolves have the edge in sustained group fights. During Eclipse War, form a Clan squad of 4–5 players and use Pack Rally to maintain the group ATK bonus. Rotate between War Objectives and flag defense rather than chasing individual kills — Objectives yield 3× the Marks of a single kill.
Non-competitive strategy: Even players with no hope of top-10 should participate for Void Dust. The crafting components from Eclipse War are the most time-efficient path to mid-tier crafted BiS gear. Target 200+ Eclipse Marks per weekend for a meaningful Void Dust yield.
Winter Frost (December 15 – January 5)
Mechanics: Winter Frost transforms Aeternum with snow-covered zones, unique ambient music, and a 3-week limited event window. The Frost Coins currency is earned by completing daily Winter Quests (3 quests, 15 Frost Coins each, 45 per day), defeating the Winter World Boss (Glacius the Eternal, spawns every 6 hours, 30 Coins), and through dungeon bonus chests that appear during the event. Total maximum earnings: roughly 180 Frost Coins per day at full engagement.
Best race strategy: Both races play Winter Frost identically — there is no faction-specific content. The event's +15% XP buff makes this the best time to Prestige, as re-leveling from 1 to 80 after a reset is significantly faster during the 3-week window. Plan your Prestige timing to align with Winter Frost if possible.
Exclusive content: The Frozen Familiar (a cosmetic companion pet) is Winter Frost's most coveted limited reward. It costs 600 Frost Coins and is unavailable at any other time of year. Three weeks of full daily engagement yields approximately 3,780 Coins — more than enough for the Familiar plus several cosmetic armor skins.
Spring Awakening (March 20 – April 10)
Mechanics: Spring Awakening celebrates the thaw of Aeternum with a heavy crafting focus. The +20% crafting yield buff (all professions) is active for the full 3-week window. Bloom Essence is earned through gathering professions (each gather node drops 1–3 Essence), crafting actions (1 Essence per craft), and the Spring Quest chain (3 daily quests, 12 Essence each). The Ancient Seed item is planted at special Spring Garden plots on the world map — it grows over 24 hours and yields crafting materials worth 10–15x the planting cost.
Best strategy: Spring Awakening is the optimal event for gold generation. The crafting yield buff combined with elevated Enchantment Stone margins (players preparing for Blood Moon and Full Moon events buy stones in bulk) makes this the best 3-week window for Auction House crafting profits. Prioritize gathering and crafting during this event over combat content.
Limited reward note: The Petal Trail cosmetic effect (leaves a trail of flowers when walking in town) is available only during Spring Awakening and costs 400 Bloom Essence. Three weeks of full engagement yields 1,200–1,500 Essence — easily enough for this plus additional cosmetics.
Summer Solstice (June 18 – July 8)
Mechanics: Summer Solstice is the most PvP-focused holiday event. A special Solstice Arena opens — a round-robin tournament format where players are matched in brackets, with Solar Tokens awarded per win and bonus Tokens for tournament placement. The regular PvP arena also runs a +25% Mark gain bonus for the event's duration, making this the best time to climb ELO ranks. Solar Tokens are also earned through the Solstice Quest chain (3 daily quests, 18 Tokens each) and from Eclipse War during the event's overlap month.
Vampire strategy: Vampires with Lifesteal builds are well-suited to the Solstice Arena's format, which emphasizes 1v1 burst exchanges. The arena does not have the Full Moon or Blood Moon buff active, creating a neutral environment where the core build and gear matter above all else.
Werewolf strategy: Werewolves benefit from the longer tournament format if they can reach the finals. The sustained STR advantage becomes more apparent over multiple fights in a row. Prioritize tournament participation over regular arena during Solstice for maximum Solar Token yield.
Exclusive content: The Dawn Rider title (awarded to Solstice Arena top-8 finishers) is the most prestigious summer title. The Sunforged Weapon skin costs 500 Solar Tokens and can be obtained through consistent daily engagement without requiring tournament placement.
Autumn Hunt (October 15 – November 4)
Mechanics: Autumn Hunt is the dungeon-focused holiday event. The +30% dungeon drop rate buff is the highest drop bonus of any event in the yearly calendar, making this the best time to farm rare equipment including Shadowmere's Crown, Eternity Helm, and any BiS drops you still need. Hunt Marks are earned through dungeon boss kills (5 Marks per unique boss kill, 2 per repeat), the Hunt Quest chain (3 quests, 20 Marks each), and by defeating the special Autumn World Boss, the Harvest Stalker (spawns twice daily in the Thornwood zone, 40 Marks per kill).
Best strategy for both races: The elevated drop rate makes Autumn Hunt the clearest "log in and do dungeons" event in the calendar. For players missing BiS equipment pieces, this is the most important holiday event to engage with fully. Prioritize high-level dungeons — Dungeon 9 and Dungeon 10 — over lower tiers to maximize both Hunt Mark income and equipment drop potential.
Exclusive content: The Harvest Moon mount skin (applies to any mount) costs 800 Hunt Marks and is the community's most-requested cosmetic. Three weeks of full engagement yields 1,500–2,000 Marks depending on dungeon frequency. Budget carefully — also available is the Haunted Companion (400 Marks), a cosmetic pet that only appears during Autumn Hunt.
Prestige timing note: The +30% drop rate also applies to Prestige Shard multiplier items, which drop in dungeons. Running a Prestige reset during Autumn Hunt means your Shard yield for that cycle is measurably higher than average. Combined with Dungeon Gold rank for bonus Mastery Points, Autumn Hunt is arguably the second-best Prestige timing window after Winter Frost.
How to Farm Event Currency Efficiently
Event currencies share a common structure: there is always a daily quest chain, a repeatable activity (dungeon, PvP, world boss), and a limited bonus source. The fastest farming path for every event follows the same priority order:
- Complete the daily quest chain first. Quest chain rewards are the highest-per-time-invested currency source in every event. They take 20–35 minutes and yield 45–60 currency, which would take 1–2 hours of dungeons to replicate. Never skip the quest chain.
- Kill the World Boss every spawn cycle. World Bosses in seasonal events yield the second-highest currency per kill. They require a group for efficient kills but most zones have public groups forming near boss spawn timers. The Harvest Stalker, Glacius, and similar seasonal bosses consistently yield 30–40 currency per kill — two spawns per day at 80 currency total is substantial.
- Run event-specific dungeons. All holiday events except Summer Solstice feature an event-specific dungeon (or a modified existing dungeon with event bonus chests). These chests drop additional event currency on top of normal loot. Prioritize these over standard dungeons during the event window.
- Standard dungeon farming last. Regular dungeons with event drop bonuses should be your fourth priority — not first. They are efficient for gear drops (especially during Autumn Hunt) but less efficient than the above three for pure currency yield.
DAILY CAP AWARENESS: All event currencies have a soft daily cap — the quest chain, World Boss, and event dungeon bonuses stop yielding currency after approximately 180–200 per day depending on the event. Spending more than 90 minutes per day farming event currency yields sharply diminishing returns. Use the remaining play time for normal progression activities.
What NOT to Spend Event Currency On
Every event vendor has a mix of excellent investments and trap options designed to drain your currency before you realize the high-value items exist. Avoid these consistently:
- Common crafting materials sold by event vendors: Iron Ore, Moonwood, and basic herbs available on event vendors are sold at face value with no event discount. You can buy the same materials on the Auction House for the same or less gold. Never spend event currency on items with AH equivalents.
- Consumables that are not event-exclusive: Healing potions, repair kits, and standard combat consumables occasionally appear on event vendors at "discounted" currency costs. Calculate the actual gold value — in almost every case, buying them with gold and saving event currency for unique rewards is more efficient.
- XP boosts sold for event currency: These appear on winter and spring event vendors. The boost duration is short (1–2 hours) and the event itself already provides passive XP bonuses. The currency cost is not justified by the time-saving. Only consider them if you are on a strict deadline to reach level 80 before a Prestige window closes.
- Cosmetics you are ambivalent about: Each event has 4–6 cosmetics available. Spending currency on "fine" cosmetics leaves you short for the signature reward (Frozen Familiar, Harvest Moon mount skin, etc.) that you will want next year when you remember the event. Prioritize the signature cosmetic first, then assess if you have enough for others.
- Gold conversion at event vendors: Some event vendors offer direct currency-to-gold exchanges. The exchange rate is always unfavorable relative to what the currency can buy in exclusive items. Never convert event currency to gold unless the event is ending in under 24 hours and you have no remaining purchases of interest.
IMPORTANT: Event currencies do not carry over between event cycles. Blood Marks earned in March expire at server reset before the next Blood Moon season begins its new accumulation period. Spend all event currency before the event ends. The game provides a 72-hour warning notification — treat that as your final spending deadline, not a sign you have time to spare.
ANNUAL PLANNING TIP: The four holiday events each provide one BiS crafting component or exclusive power item that is unavailable outside that event window. Build your annual gear and Prestige plan around these windows: Winter Frost for Prestige timing, Spring Awakening for crafting income and Enchanting materials, Summer Solstice for ELO push, Autumn Hunt for dungeon gear drops. Playing all four with full engagement is the single most efficient path to a fully optimized character without relying on luck-gated content.
